Project 3 Progress: 04/28/2021

Today, I sanded my frame and painted the bike. Once it dried, I secured the original seat back on as it will not be replaced with a new one.

I also sawed down the handle bars by 1.5 inches. I converted the quill steam to a treadless stem similar to this tutorial (minus cutting it off – I removed it properly as discussed in Project 3 Progress: 04/21/2021) with the quill steam converter kit.

Bike is painted, and wheels and seat back on. The quill steam is converted to a treadless steam and ready for the handlebar and cantilever brakes.

Next week, I will place the handlebars back on, and engineer the cantilever brakes with new brake pads.
